I believe everyone deserves a moment of their day to be filled with peace and serenity; a moment to reflect on living a wholehearted life, whatever that may mean to you. For me this happens pretty early in the morning with my cup of joe.
It was during this self reflection one morning that I finally gathered up the courage to start my own blog. Allowing me an opportunity to be creative, step outside my comfort zone a little and share with you my love for coffee.
Why Coffee?
Well why not! Writing about my love, at times obsession, for coffee sounds like a dream come true! Now it’s a reality. I want to tap into the caffeinated veins of Chicago and find the amazing brews of coffee, cafes and baristas that make these little joyful moments more enjoyable!
Mug Shot – My name is Sarah! By day; coffee drinker, marketing coordinator, big sister, wanna be chef, yogie, closet shop-o-holic, animal whisperer, and noodle slurper. By night; an owl; due to my late afternoon and sometimes evening coffee breaks (guilty). After a long day in the office, I come home and some days all I can think about is wrapping my hands around a hot delicious cup of coffee. Having a moment of peace and quiet to think and reflect on my day. I typically end up regretting this when I’m tossing and turning all night unable to fall asleep, but at the time it’s SO worth it.
I wanted a blog name that would be an obvious representation of my love for coffee and also myself. First a foremost a representation of myself, Blonde. Such a simple and physical way to describe myself, but there is no better way to explain myself in a word. I’m a simple by nature and heart person who lives for the small moments in life that are filled with strong emotions, the memories we look back on and smile because of how perfectly simple they were. I also just happen to have blonde hair 🙂 though my hair seems to slowly be getting darker each year.
Bean head is a clear representation of my coffee obsession; you could say I have coffee beans for a brain. Coffee is my driving force in the morning, it’s the sole reason I get out of bed on the weekends. My boyfriend is the best and makes the coffee all week long so I get joy out of beating him to the coffee on the weekends. What I also hope to share with you is not only delightful coffee enjoyed in a mug, but ways to incorporate coffee beans, ground and flavor into cooking and baking too.
