Last day in Utah, I’m so sad. But last night was my cousins beautiful wedding and it was the most magical evening ever! Him and his new wife Hayley are the absolute cutest couple and the venue and entire evening were just too perfect. We are actually checking out, getting coffee and planning to swing past their new place to see them on our way to the airport. They also hit the road tomorrow for their honeymoon! How perfect right! Ne last day to spend with friends and family in town before being off on a great adventure together and relaxing! I love it. Wishing I had planned my trip with at least a day of relaxing. Sadly while they are off to Switzerland I will be logging onto work.
So while driving out of the mountains this morning we happened past Alpha Coffee and knew we had to stop for a bit. It’s perfectly nestled at the base of the mountains, literally anyone leaving or driving in would stop here as it’s too perfect of a pit stop. They have a bunch a tables setup outside, a coffee truck and the inside is huge as well for those wanting to relax or work inside.
Sundays are a very busy day for this cafe, the parking lot was full and we actually had to park a few blocks down the road! While chatting with the barista he even confirmed that Sunday for whatever reason is always their busiest day. The really cool think about this coffee shop is they are huge supporters of our nation’s troops! They have a whole wall dedicated to veterans and active members and made a bunch of donations each year. Cafes or even businesses like this I find so cool and wholesome, they stand for something and actively promote it.
Alpha Coffee is HUGE, I am not kidding there is so much space in this cafe that even though we had to park a few blocks down the road you don’t feel the crowd at all. This both surprised me and blew my mind. But OMG their menu, I literally wanted all of their specialty drinks! All the flavors blew me away with the amount to detail and ingredients that went into each of them. I was literally having a hard time even deciding which one I wanted, they all sounded so fabulous!
I went with a honey drink that was locally sourced honey again, apparently this has become a new addition of mine with coffee. I just find honey to be the perfect sweet touch. It’s supposed to be extremely healthy and healing as well. So I mean with all that what’s not to like? Danny went with another beverage I was very close to picking because it had a touch of natural almond flavoring!! YUM! As much as I was looking forward to my dink I was looking forward to trying Danny’s drink as well! Honey and Almonds.
The baristas were also extremely friendly and so kind wanting to make sure they answered all questions and making our drinks as strong as we would like them. We each of course ordered an extra shot of espresso. Another thing this coffee shop seemed to be into was gelato! I am not a big ice cream fan, dairy and all, but Danny lovees this stuff and they had a sticky rice flavor. For anyone that knows Danny, one of his childhood favorites is sticky rice or tapioca pudding! And now you’re going to offer this in gelato form? DONE. The barista who took our coffee order saw us checking all the flavors out and gave us a sample, yes it was beyond delicious!
Once our drinks were ready we were dying to give them both a try and neither of use could pick who had the better drink! They were both tat amazing and perfectly made, neither was overly sweet.
