Coffee Bar – DC

Hello DC! Was have landed and naturally the first stop at 10AM in the morning was COFFEE! Coffee Bar DC coming for you stat.

We caught the 7am flight out of Chicago and now have the whole day in DC, but needed to kill a little time till our Airbnb was ready for us to check in which was not till 12:30. So what better than a pit stop for coffee! We got on the Metro and took it up into the area we were planning to stay in, Logan Circle. Coffee Bar is right down the street form the Metro stop and lucky focus in the direction we wanted to head later for our check in. Since we had time to kill I was looking forward to be able to sit in the cafe for a bit and take in the atmosphere.

Walking up to the cafe the front is huge with tables and chairs set up and people were actually already sitting outside and enjoying coffee! Granted it is easier 10 degrees warmer here in DC than the weather in Chicago. So for a Mid-50’s day I can totally understand wanting to sit outside and enjoy a warm cup of coffee. Heading into the cafe there is a ton of sitting for such a small space too.

Window seating, counter seating along the walls, couches, lounge chairs and a community table in the middle of the space. With all this there is still a good sized coffee bar with stool seating there too! Good thing they have all this seating cause clearly this is the spot to be and get some work done too. It was actually pretty limited seating when we arrived due to lots of people working and drinking coffee here today.

No problem as we were able to snag a seat at the community table. Danny order his favorite cappuccino and I actually landed on a vanilla latte! Total throwback to what I use to love, but for some reason that was sounding like it was going to hit the spot in the best sweet treat way possible. I mean it’s vacation right? Unfortunately we both could have benefited from a bite of food too to help tide us over, but this cafe only really had muffins and a few croissants. Neither were really fitting the bill for what we were looking for this afternoon so we just went with the drink  order.

The barista was a total sweetheart too, super friendly and was having fun joking around with us too. She also was the one who made our drinks and they were both fabulous! What a fantastic way to start our trip! While enjoying our drinks Danny finished up a little work while I took in the cafe and was able to capture a TON of pictures. Love drinking coffee and lattes out of actual mugs vs. disposable ones. They just have more flavor, more comfort? It might all be in my head but I would pick  amug over a disposable cup any day. Downfall I am a slow coffee drinker and really like to savvor ever sip which would lead to me spending wayyyy too much time in coffee shops.

After a while we both had finished our drinks and were totally in need for food at this point so it was time to move on even though I could have spent all afternoon there. It’s a great cafe, well lit and everyone was extremely friendly and respectful of the space too. If I lived around here I would totally come here to get some work done while enjoying a latte.

Can’t wait to see what other coffee shops DC has for me to explore!
