Elevate Coffee

Elevate your mood with some Elevate coffee!

Sunday Funday and man is this Sunday really having fun with us. Its April 14th and we wake up this morning to a slush snow storm coming down. Actually correction it was not coming down, it was blowing in sideways and just spending two minutes out there in ut you would be soaked. It was a very wet slush. Mind you just yesterday it was 50s and gorgeous, the sun was shining and we took Duncan out for a long walk up the lakefront. It was perfect!

So the weather was really killing the mood this Sunday, but we still woke up and got right down to the adulting portion of our day. We walked Duncan, started laundry and got our groceries out of the way. After all that it was absolutely time for some coffee. We landed on driving up and checking out a brand new cafe in Boystown called Elevate Coffee.

Lucky for use with the weather being so poopy we were able to zip up there rather quickly as no one was on the road. The cafe is located right in what is kinda considered the main part of Boystown so I’m sure on better weather days they get great foot traffic. Entering the cafe it was actually much larger than I thought it would be, there are tons of tables to the left right when you walk in, heading back there is a couch and a few other tables that line the wall on the way to the bathroom in the back. The coffee bar itself is huge and on the left hand side right when you walk in. I was not expecting there to be this much space in the cafe and it was wonderful.

Taking in the menu the barista noticed right away we were first timers and strike up conversation asking if was wanted his recommendations or if there was something in particular we were looking for. Well since he offered up his recommendations and there was no line forming behind us I took him up on that offer and he oh so kindly walked through every single drink order on the menu and went into detail on all their specialty drinks too. He was way to ind and helpful, you could tell he was enjoying it equally as much.

In the end I was lame and went with a double cortado, but Danny on the other hand was talked into creme brulee latte! I mean that is one of his all time favorite desserts so I can totally understand and how the barista explained it is they put some sugar on top to try and and give it that burt crunch that they are known so well for.

While we waited for our drinks we took a seat on the couch and just watched as the two behind the counter gotta making both our drinks. This is such an ideally coffee shop to come to for work or if you’re looking to get some studying done. It’s quite, with good lighting, friendly staff, free wifi and great coffee drinks! Was more could you ask for? Well probably some food if you planned to be there a while. Elevate has a few morning pastries all brought in from West Town Bakery. We actually decided to split the Blueberry Lemon scone and it was quite possibly the best decision on the day. That scone was to die for, BUT there should have been way more  blueberries.

When our coffee drinks were ready the barista literally walked them around the count and over too us, the service was outstanding! Danny’s creme brulee latte was amazing it was so delicious but 100% could benefit from another shot of espresso to cover some of the sweet after taste. My cortado was simple but made very well. I was really enjoying as it was basically four straight shots of espresso! I am about to be wired for the day.

We took our drinks and what remained of the scone to go, but I can’t wait to wonder back up to this part of town during the summer to check it out a little more. Truth be told I have actually never really been to Boystown.

Any other  good coffee shops I am missing up in this neighborhood?
