Georgetown Cafe

Enough of the DC coffee, today we are off to Georgetown! No plan for a coffee shop we figured along our walk and in the journey we would stumble onto one. Sure enough stumbled right into the cutest cafe, right off the main street called Cafe  Georgetown.

Cafe Georgetown is the coffee shop you would find me living in if I was a local. They are a coffee tea shop with lots of alternative milk options, flavors, specialty drinks, teas and patrie. Then in the evening they turn into a classy little wine cafe! The space is so perfect and cozy too that you could easily spend a whole day here and not bat an eye.

It was Danny that spotted the sign and was in need of a coffee for our walk home from Georgetown since it was a little brisk and rainy out today. Unfortunately for me I had just had coffee with my lunch so there was shockingly no room in me for more caffeine just now. But I was still looking forward to seeing what Danny thought of his drink and checking out this adorable cafe.

Getting to the cafe it feels as though you are walking up into someone’s home, super quaint. Then walking in the cafe itself is quite small and narrow, the coffee counter is directly in front of you with some seating in the front window bay and a few small tables along the wall. The space then slightly opened up in the back where the wine bar is with a few high top tables. Much more light as you go back, the wine bar room has a glass rooftop!

The cafe itself was  very quiet, there was a pair in the bar wine bar area enjoying coffee and another pair in the front window seats. So after Danny order his coffee we just grabbed a seat at to seater along the wall. One one barista behind the bar making drinks this afternoons there was plenty of time for me to take in the cafe vibes and capture a few pictures too. All the pastries looked AMAZING!

The drink that was getting made before ours was hands down the most interesting drink I have ever seen! After the barista made that and got started on Danny’s drink I had to go up to the counter and ask, it was a blue drink with espresso! So cool looking and it came iced in a clear drink so watching the colors mix together was cool too. It ended up being a tea and espresso drink mixed with milk. While checking their site later on I discovered thi was called Daydreaming. It’s a beautiful drink! SNap I wish their menu had been better placed out so that we would have looked at this. Not sure we would have ordered, but would have been nice to know the other options they had available.

For another day maybe!
