Hexe Coffee

Good morning Chicago!

Happy fall Saturday my friends and it’s the marathon weekend as well. So much buzz and excitement around the city!

Danny and I woke up rather early this morning in order to make sure we took the time to make all our adult errands completed. We had gone out the night before with my cousin asa fare well dinner in the city. She is moving to the east coast in the coming month so I wont get to see her as often as Ido now. So we had been out late and I was feeling it a little bit at 8am in the morning, we also have plans later in the evening with my parents that we both wanted to make sure we were ready for since they tend to pop in very unexpected. The planning and communication in my family is just sad some days.

Luck for our one of our adult errands this morning was Costco and across the street is a brand new coffee house called Hexe Coffee

Hexe Coffee is in a brand new building that was just built this past summer and opened not even a month ago! Very new and is unfortunately an odd and undeerrated spot. We had even driven past it a million times and not fully realized it was indeed a coffee shop. Based on the website they serve coffee all day, but late rinto the evening will also serve cocktails and snacks! With the coffee in the morning they serve just breakfast pastries and little treats, but all are made fresh in house!

This is definitely still and underrated coffee house, we parked in the back and walk around the building to the front where there is a HUGE patio! Shames they opened a little late in the season as this would be a great place to come and sit outside, I will be keeping this in mind come next summer. But getting to the inside there were only three other people there and one person that came in shortly after us. But this coffee shop is pretty big and has the roaster up front in a glassed in room section of the cafe. It’s a beautiful coffee shop!

I unfortunately did not know all the pastries were made in house till after I made my order, but I got the cortado while Danny got his go-to cappuccino. This cafe would be a great place to come and get some peace and quiet while enjoying a coffee, there is no music playing right now and with the lack of people knowing about the space its not to loud or busy! Amazing!

The coffee didn’t take took long to prepare next think you know we were heading out the door. Both our drinks were perfectly made. The cafe menu is extremely simple with no flavors even listed out, just simple plain and perfectly crafted coffee. My cortado was so smooth and delicious I wish I had ordered a double.

Will totally make sure to come back here in the summer enjoy a pasty on the patio next time. Has anyone else been to Hexe Coffee or even heard of it?
