Peregrino Espresso

Sad day today, it’s our last day in DC and I am so not ready to leave. Neither is Danny, we both had had so much fun running around and exploring that our trip just flew by. For our last coffee shop we both agreed on checking out Peregrino Espresso.

Peregrino was actually recommended to me on Instagram as a coffee shop must and then the day before Danny and I happened to wonder in when we noticed they had donuts. So that also sealed the deal as last coffee shop we could pick for this trip.

Well in true Sarah fashion on this trip, our visit was not about to go over smoothly. Upon our arrival was had just got done lugging our luggage a few blocks and had a mini detour due to some construction we were both ready for coffee and a sweet treat. When low and behold there are no donuts! Donuts are a weekend special and with today now being Monday there are NO DONUTS! I honestly couldn’t help but laugh when we saw that on the menu. Like of course there would not be donuts today and of course we would have been here yesterday, could have got them then but didn’t pay close enough attention to the menu.

So instead we both went with the cranberry orange scones, they looked and were delicious! Me being more a scone person didn’t have a problem with this change up, but poor Danny certainly got his hopes up since we haven’t seen a  single donut once on our trip! DC is not a donut or pizza city, these are far and few between.

Anyways onto the actual reason to come to a coffee shop, the coffee! Danny held true, ordered a cappuccino and I went with a cortado AND coffee! I really wanted to give the beans a try here and was also very tired or ordering lattes I was less than pleased with. Once our coffees were ready we sat in the front window and were able to peacefully enjoy our coffee scones together before continuing on with our journey.

Danny was really enjoying the cappussion and I loved the cortado, unfortunately the coffee was delicious but far too light for something Danny and I would normally prefer. Their house blend was very weak. The espresso though was strong and had a nutty flavor to it that helped wash down the dry delicious cranberry bursting scone.

Would highly highly recommend Peregrino Espresso on the weekend when you can get a donut but also so a quick espresso pick me up. This cafe knows what they are doing when it comes to that.

  1. I have learned some important things through your blog post post. One other point I would like to mention is that there are many games available and which are designed mainly for preschool age kids. They incorporate pattern identification, colors, pets, and patterns. These usually focus on familiarization as opposed to memorization. This helps to keep a child occupied without having a sensation like they are studying. Thanks
