Fairgrounds – Fulton Market

Taste  one. Faste all. At Fairgrounds Coffee!

This is the very true motto that Fairgrounds Coffee goes by. This week’s coffee adventure took us back to coffee house we had been to but since our first visit the cafe has ground and they now have other locations. So we decided to check out the newest location in the Fulton Market District.

This location is probably no more than a month old and is build into the first floor of a brand new apartment complex. All around so cool, but lots of new construction going on in the neighborhood so not sure how much foot traffic this cafe gets just yet. Either way we drove out to visit since we were on our way to a family graduation party anyways.

I work near one of the other Fairground Coffee locations and sadly have avoided a little since the first time I visited I did a coffee flight on a very hungover morning when I had plans to then go and day drink at a baseball game. Really not a good mix just to start with. Sadly being hungover I do not think I made the wises choices in coffee and my meal that I was hoping would fill my hungover craving also did not sit well. So since then my stomach has not encouraged me to come back. This morning thought I was really looking forward to heading back and getting some nitro coffee.

I’m addicted to Starbucks nitro so now it’s time to branch out and try a few others, see who really has the best! Fairgrounds Coffee’s whole MO is bring together and offering a bunch of different and new coffee beans from all over in one place. They menu is just unbelievable and it’s always rotating so the coffees are always changing. I think there are a few roasters that they will always have on hand, thoseing beingth local coffee bigshots of course. But then there are roasters from all over the country that will each be featured. It’s a coffee addicts dream!

This location if HUGE! Literally takes up the whole entire first floor of this apartment complex, granted they have expanded to also being a bar that will later on transition to serving drinks, but still there is a ton of space in this cafe to come and seclude yourself for a few hours with your coffee. The decor is clear, fun and just awesome. THey play around with the carnival theme and sprinkle classic memorabilia throughout all their location. Making it quite whimsical.

The real challenge about this cafe is coming in and taking on the menu, there are so many options and way to tackle. They offer coffee flights, so tastings of all the coffees on tap. This can be done with hot, cold and nitro coffees! The limit of coffee combinations does not exist! Then there are the typical cafe espresso drinks and of course a Specials category that has just about any drink flavor combination you could they of. They are all so fun and different sounding each using different coffee or espresso beans.

Danny went with his favorite, the cappuccino with Colectivo espresso. I landed on the Stumptown Nitro coffee on tap. I was thrown a slight curve ball when they offered Nitro Matcha on tap. I was so tempted to give it a try but was not sure what to expect from a matcha nitro drink, that could be really strong? I later heard it’s one of the best and  a not miss. So naturally I will be planning a trip soon to the location near my office very soon. We both also picked out a treat to go with our coffees this morning, I have been slightly dying for a scone and so picking this place also had a plus since I knew they also offered baked good too. Danny picked the sprinkled donut from Fire Cakes and I picked the blueberry scone from Colectivo! We both agreed the baked goods were both so delicious! I LOVED my nitro coffee, it was the perfect rich flavor with low acidity! Oh I could drink it a millions time over, it was also the perfect temp, since you should not be adding ice to nitro drinks its key to make sure they are still cold too. This nitro was the perfect refreshing cold. I cant and don’t like enjoying my coffee fast and this nitro stayed cool through the whole car ride!

Unfortunately enough Danny was less than thrilled with his cappuccino, he couldn’t quite put his finger on it today, but there was something about it that was just not hitting the spot for him. Our barista was so the best, very friendly and good about answering all our questions while also allowing us the time to make up our minds on things too. He was chatting with Danny about how addicting the Fire Cakes donuts are, they were bonding over this while I walked around documenting the space.

While leaving Danny and I both agreed we would come back out here during the week to work from this cafe it was that awesome and spacious!

All around my second visit to Fairgrounds was a huge success and I cannot get back again!

What are some of the drinks you have tried from Fairgrounds and would recommend?
