I finally made it! Ipsento 606. If you were to ever chat with me in person this is the coffee shop that gets the most chatter out of me. Its right next to the illusive 606 trail, it’s my favorite latte in the whole city and they claim to have mini donuts! What more could I ask for in a coffee shop? Oh it being DOG FRIENDLY!

So on this fine Sunday morning our plan was to take Duncan with us to the coffee shop, get my favorite coffee and possible even snap a donut! Fabulous Sunday funday. The cherry on top of all these plan was we discovered Wicker Park has a farmers market on Sunday morning, less than a mile away from Ipsento. This morning sure has a lot to live up to.
Duncan packed up in the car we hit to road for Wicker, first stop the farmers market! We got there just as they were wrapping up setting up. Pretty good timing if you ask me since we had Duncan and this isn’t as large a market as Green City market by us it was nice to stroll through it a couple times without fighting the masses. Foolishly on are part we had grocery shopped right before coming, but it was fun to still check out all the vendors. There were some that we recognized and a few new faces as well! All good to know for our next visit cause i would 100% come back out this way for their market!
After the market it was much needed coffee time! So we continued up the road to Ipsento! Upon arriving at the shop there was a dog leashed up outside, this had me a little worried! So Danny and I figured we could get our coffee, check out if it was dog friendly and then get Duncan as needed.
Well they are dog friendly in the sense that they love dogs! Ha but none are allowed in the shop due to health code reason. Which I understand, but please do not label yourself as dog friendly then! So poor Duncs had to sit in the car while we got our coffee, at that point I had already decided to not hang around the coffee shop like originally planned. They also did not have their windows open at this time in the morning either. So there was really no where for us to go with poor Duncan. A little disheartening but you live and you learn is all I can say. Now I know.
Aside from all that did the 606 shop live up to all the hype I had for it, atmosphere wise not totally, I mean I couldn’t hang with my dog here, but coffee wise Ipsento never disappoints! The cafe is absolutely adorable, much more modern and spacious than the original location on Western Ave.
This location also offers coffee classes and in the evening will transition to a cocktail and happy hour hangout. Offering mixed drinks, wine beer and snacks. Basically offering all drinks for any point in the day. It’ on my hit list to come back for the latte crafting class! Bucket list for this winter.
On days when the side windows are actually open this would be the hot spot to hangout. You’re right along the 606 attracting those up on the trail in need of a pick me up, there is some seating in the grass area right outside and in front of a beautifully painted wall mural. Then on the inside there is a plethora of tables and chairs. I can’t see how anyone would have a hard time finding a seat here.
Aside from my own personal disappointment in the morning plan being spoiled ever so slightly and us not being able to spend more time in the coffee shop this was a wonderful way to start our SUnday morning. Still love Ipsento and will be back for the latte class!
