Ridman’s

Ridman’s Cafe is a perfect way to start the day!

Ridman’s is a cafe up in Uptown, we noticed it for the first time while driving up this way on new years to check out the dispensary lines. So today we just decided to drive back up this way to get some good old coffee. We did not know it till the morning that they serve Dark Matter Coffee here. Not a total problem but sometimes Danny and I find this coffee to be extra dark and heavy. Today i was actually pleasantly surprised and happy with this, I really needed and wanted a strong kick to get me going this morning.

The cafe is quite the neighborhood spot today, lots of people coming in and out of the cafe today and even on the inside there are groups of people all over. I would not say this is the largest cafe, but when you step inside the structure and layout are quite open to the point you don’t feel overly crowded by others. There was even room for a sample table to be set up where someone was handing out cold brew samples and I think just passing out neighborhood flyers. There was a couple standing there chatting with the woman at the table the whole time we were there so I didn’t take the time to investigate.

Heading over to the coffee counter the menu had of course to standard offerings, but then also a few cafe features and favorites! Yum! The first was called Sippy Cup and this had ginger and maple and used coconut milk. The second feature beverage was called Banana Pudding, this was made with homepage banana syrup and topped with whip cream and a vanilla wafer! OMG YUM!

Danny has recently been on a huge vanilla wafer binge lately, it really is the best balance of sweet without being overly sweet. So when he saw this I knew his mind was made up. I decided to then go with the Sippy cup option. The baristas were SO friendly in answering all our questions and also had a good laugh when we both decided to order an extra shot in our drinks. I think they couldn’t believe that we both were okay with getting four shots in our drink. Yup sorry folks we’re both caffeine freaks.

While waiting for the drinks we were able to grab a seat and just enjoy the coffee house vibes, or honestly I think we were both just wanting to make sure we were out of the way with all the people coming and going in this cafe. To pass the shot time that it took to get our drinks I was checking out the Dark Matter coffee beans sold for retail on the shelves. They had a few bags of beans that I have not seen before and a few small select batch beans too. They all sounded pretty delicious, but what really caught my eye was they actually will bottle up their house made banana syrup.

I instantly flagged this to Danny and said if we actually like his drink we will need to come back up for this. My drink came out first and it was perfect, the ginger gave it a little spice and kick while the coconut milk helped smooth things over. I have to say the strongest flavor that came through was the coconut milk. Which i only find okay, it was a wonderful drink, but curious to try this with another milk instead to see if that will help bring out more of the ginger and maple flavor. Danny’s banana drink came out next, I get too excited when cool drinks like this come out and I snuck a drink while walking back to the table with it. Sadly I think I slurped up foam, Danny’s favorite!

Ridman’s did put two mini vanilla wafers on the lid of the drink for him! What an adorable touch! I was obsessed! And his drink was out of this world delicious! The perfect babane sweet flavor, it was very subtle and nicely made. I absolutely want to come back for their homemade syrup! It’s much lighter than any other syrup I had tried, Danny really enjoyed it as well!

So yes I will totally come back to Ridaman’s cause their banana drink is out of this world, it would be fun to come back in the summer and try this iced!
