Buzz Coffee Roasters use to have an amazing coffee shop in Wicker Park close to the Damen Blue line stop, I am not sure exactly when that closed but then just this past year they reopening in a new much larger space in Logan Square. Quite glad they are back too!
The space has such a better layout and is much more open. They went simplistic with the decorations too, just plants and trendy light fixtures. Also they must do more baking in house cause the second we walked in it smelled of delicious gingerbread! Yum!
Gingerbread must be the flavor of the week here, the featured latte flavor was gingerbread with cayenne pepper! Consider the cafe smelled so delicious I was all about trying this latte flavor too, Danny went with the classic vanilla bean. Which is usually always fabulous since vanilla bean is WAY better than just vanilla as a flavor in general.
Cafe was not too busy this morning, there were a few people sitting along the wall that was across from the coffee bar and then a few people were in the more common area where there are a bunch of tables set up. Great layout of space where no one feels too crowded or on top of each other. The old space was so narrow and oddly layed out it was easy to feel on top of each other.
Unfortunately I do not think our lattes were made that well this morning, Danny and I of course both asked for an extra shot of express to our small lattes, but when they first handed over the lattes they only noted that that vanilla had an extra shot. So they had to add another shot to mine. Once that was done my latte was okay, would not say the gingerbread flavor was that noticeable, not what I was expecting or really wanting I guess.
But poor Danny by the time he got around to taking the first sip of his latte we had left and we both agreed there was only one shot of espresso in this latte too. It was good and the vanilla bean flavor on point, but it was way too sweet. I felt bad and wish we were not already on the road cause I would have gone back and asked for a shot to be added to the latte.
Based on our latest latte experience and the new location is a bit out of the way now not sure we will be frequent visitors here. But I do recommend checking it out of you are in the area.
